The A to Z Book Bookish Survey Tag

I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a book. – J.K. Rowlings

I stole this from DramaRambles, but it was originally created by The Perpetual Page Turner. I am in the middle of Camp NaNoWriMo right now, so a lot of my writing energy is going into that right now that is why I am doing another tag today. Hopefully once I have finished Camp NaNoWriMo, I will be able to be more creative with my posts. I am hoping to start doing more book reviews then.

But that really is enough of me rambling on about the future. I think that that may be at least partially Camp NaNoWriMo’s fault because for that it is better if I can be more wordy.

Anyways… let’s get started!

Author You’ve Read The Most From:

It might be John Flanagan just because he has written so many books and I’ve read all of them. Yeah, that is quite possibly the author that I have read the most by.

Best Sequel Ever:

I tend to read series rather than books with sequels, but I would say that my favorite sequel is ‘The Year of the Griffin’ by Diana Wynne Jones.

Currently Reading:

I am currently reading: ‘The Philosophy of Tolkien’ by Peter Kreeft and ‘The Hourglass Door’ by Lisa Mangum.

Drink Of Choice While Reading:

Tea or water.

E-Reader Or Physical Book?

I would rather read physical books, although there are times that it is nice to read on my Kindle because it is easier to carry around.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Been Friends With In High School:

Quite possibly Belinda Davis from ‘Love Comes Softly’ series. She actually reminds me of one of my real life friends.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:

I’m going to go with ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ by Alexandre Dumas for this one. It took me a while to actually get to it, but I enjoyed it once I did.

Hidden Gem Book:

‘The Blue Castle’ by L.M. Montgomery. I really wish that more people would read this book because it is amazing.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

Probably when I realized that I could read books without needing help. That I was able to read by myself and read books that had interesting stories. If you are a reader actually knowing how to read is quite important, although before I started really reading, I did listen to a bunch of stories on tape.

Just Finished:

I just finished reading ‘Becoming Mrs. Lewis’ by Patti Callahan earlier today.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

I don’t really read horror, but I’m pretty open on reading different genres.

Longest Book You’ve Read:

I’m not sure… I read a lot of long books. Probably the longest though is ‘The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich’ by William L. Shirer.

Major Book Hangover Because Of:

Um, I can think of a movie hangover easily, but I’m having trouble with the book one. I’ve definitely had one over ‘Lord of the Rings’ by J.R.R. Tolkien, but I haven’t had any book hangovers recently.

Number of Bookcases You Own:

Just one, but that one is just about full, so I may have to do something about that soon. . .

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

I’m a bit of a re-reader, so asking me just to choose one book that I have read multiple times is not easy. Um, Pride and Prejudice.

Preferred Place To Read:

Anywhere without a lot of people. People tend to be distracting.

Quote That Inspires You/Gives You All The Feels From A Book You’ve Read:

If you really wanted I would be able to give you a bunch of quotes because quotes are amazing, but I’m going to limit myself to one.

Here is an excellent one for all readers:

“Because that’s what Hermione does,” said Ron shrugging. “When in doubt, go to the library.” – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Reading Regret:

That I will not be able to read all of the amazing books that are in the world. That there are so many, and I only have so much time.

Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):

I cannot currently think of any. I know that there are a few series that I have abandoned, but they are ones that I have absolutely no intention of finishing, and at the moment and I cannot even remember their names.

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

Several of these are going to be series because it is impossible to choose just one of the books. ‘Lord of the Rings’ by J.R.R. Tolkien, ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen, and the ‘Harry Potter’ series by J.K. Rowlings.

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

Harry Potter.

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:

Oh, this is difficult because I don’t read a lot of new books. I tend to go with older books partially because I don’t like waiting for the next book to come out, but I guess it gives me time to appreciate a series… I guess I am most excited for the next Dragonwatch book by Brandon Mull, ‘Master of the Phantom Isles.’

Worst Bookish Habit:

I will read books too fast. I need to take the time to enjoy them.

X Marks The Spot

Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

The Skin Map by Stephen Lawhead.

Your Latest Book Purchase:

Image result for the inheritance by louisa may alcott

This is Louisa May Alcott’s first novel that she wrote when she was seventeen. It was not rediscovered until the 1990s.

I did not realize that it had been written at all until I discovered it at a used book store and I was fascinated and had to get it, even though I was not planning on getting any books. I guess if I didn’t want to get any new books I shouldn’t have walked into that book store.

ZZZ-Snatcher Book:

Last Book That Kept You Up WAY Late:

It was ‘The House of Hades’ by Rick Riordan, but that was only because I wanted to finish it and there was only a few chapters left when it was my normal bedtime. So, I stayed up and finished it

I hope you enjoyed! Feel free to do this book tag if you feel so inspired, I’d love to see your answers if you do end up doing it. What are your top three favorite books?
