And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. – Roald Dahl
Magic is something that intrigues us. There is so much mystery surrounding it. It is something that it is impossible to know much about, as it comes from people’s imaginations.
Another thing that intrigues us is people’s personalities, why they act the way that they do. It is something that we want to understand; we make patterns that personalities are supposed to follow. Sometimes these patterns work, but there is always something missing. That does not mean that it is not fun and interesting and we cannot learn something from these patterns like the Myers-Briggs Personality types or the Enneagram types, however they will not show the complete picture.
That is not to say that personality theories, patterns, like the Enneagram type do not intrigue us.
Today I would like to look at the Enneagram types and see which mythical creature best fits each of these personality types. I will not be going into detail about what each Enneagram type is like, so if you would like to learn more about them, here are two post this one explains the basic theory and this one has links to each of the posts I wrote on the individual types.
Also, if you are unsure of your Enneagram type and would like to find out this free test seems fairly accurate.
A Type 1 is a Pegasus. They want to do so much. They want to create perfection. They want to go beyond and above what normal people do.
A Pegasus can fly above a normal horse. I feel like a Pegasus can symbolize going above one’s dreams and accomplishing the impossible.
Type 2 is a Griffin. Traditionally Griffins are protectors of treasure. Type 2s try to protect and care for others.
The Enneagram Type 3 is a Phoenix. Type 3s want to accomplish something amazing, they want to do something with their lives.
Phoenixes are birds practically on fire. They are born by fire and live by fire.
Type 4 is a Mermaid. They are both highly individualistic. Both like being alone with themselves.
Type 5 is an Elf. They both tend to stand back and observe and learn before doing things.
Type 6 is a dragon. Type 6 is very loyal to someone who has gained their trust, but it takes time, and when you lose their trust you lose it forever.
I feel like a dragon would be the same way, except if you lost their trust they would eat you.
Type 7 is a fairy. They both like to flit about enjoying life to the fullest.
Type 8 is a dwarf. They both are not afraid of challenge. They like to control their situations.
Type 9 is a unicorn. They are both quiet and peace loving.
It is not hard to imagine unicorns being the peacemaker between the other mythical creatures.
Do you agree with the mythical creatures that I choose? Also which mythical creature are you?
