5 Reason I Love Writing

You don’t write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say. – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Right now blogging is one of the last things that I feel like doing. I would almost rather be washing dishes or something like that. And, yes, I have done that at times to avoid writing.

I just kind of feel like writing is boring and a waste of my time. I just don’t know what to write.

Even though right now I don’t feel like writing right now, I know that it is a huge part of me.

I love to write normally.

It’s just right now I guess I feel kind of stuck with my writing. I don’t quite know what to write for this blog post. It’s probably from being tired and then from having writing a lot in the last few days.

Because I’m feeling like this, I wanted to do something a bit different than anything I have done before. Today I want to share with you some of the things that I love about writing.

It is a chance for us all to remember why we write. That is something that can be too easy for us to loose sight of, at least, that is the case for me.

I guess this is a mixture of reasons of why I write stories and why I write blogs, but together they make a whole that tells why I write.

It’s possible to do anything.

In real life I can’t learn that I’m an Elf and have to go on a quest to restore the rightful king of the country, but I can write about it and it is like I am actually there.

In real life I can’t defeat an alien robot, but I have written about that.

When I write it is like I am there saving the day.

It is a way to connect with others.

That’s one of the things that I love about blogging. People all over the world can read what I write.

I’ll probably never meet you, and yet you are reading my blog.

I have people looking at my blog from all over the world. When I see that it amazes me.

The world is a huge place. There is so much on the internet that it seems so unlikely that anyone would find my blog and yet so many do!

Every time I think about that it amazes me. Thank you everyone who is taking the time to read this!

The Characters are amazing.

One of my favorite parts of writing stories is learning about the characters. I love finding out what they care about. What their backstory is.

It’s an amazing journey learning about the characters, telling their stories.

I get to know these characters better than I ever get to know a human being which makes sense.

It gets so that the characters feel less like fictional characters and more like people.

Being able to write about writing.

Since I started this blog I have learned so much more about writing. I thought that I knew quite a bit about writing before I started it, but since then I feel like I’ve maybe doubled that knowledge.

And there is so much more to learn. I doubt I’ll ever be able to learn it all.

Pencil, Sharpener, Notebook, Paper

Being able to release thoughts.

Sometimes there are so many thoughts and emotions swirling around in my head. It can be such a relief to get them down onto paper.

I don’t know what I would do without a journal where I can put down all the random thoughts.

Writing is a part of me. It is something that I love.

Sometimes though it is hard to why I love it.

I was having a really hard time with writing when I started this blog post, but now I remember why I love it. I feel like I could be excited about writing again.

What do you love about writing?
